History

We were born in 1969 and since the beginning we have established ourselves as a leading company in the national and European market for the production and processing of territorial information.

1969

Licinio Ferretti founds the Compagnia Generale Ripreseaeree, combining topographical experience and a passion for flight.

1973–1976

Introduction of color in main flights. Completed coverage of Sardinia and Emilia-Romagna Region.

Early 80’s

Production of analog photoplans and orthophotos. The work on Venice and the islands of the lagoon is exhibited at the EXPO in Tsukuba (Japan).

1982–1983

Projects for integrated controls in agriculture and olive oil register. B/W flight on a scale of 1:8,000 and production of orthophotos for cadastral overlay.

Since 1987

Checks for the vineyard register at a scale of 1:20,000, with black and white shots.

1988–1989

Flight ITALIA 88/89: b/w footage at 1:70,000 scale with Learjet 25C. 5,600 frames in 18 months. First introduction of the License of Use in Italy for aerial photogrammetric products.

1991–1995

Agricultural checks on a scale of 1:40,000, with production of photographic enlargements for field verification.

1992

1:20,000 scale viticultural control shots with black and white emulsion.

1993

Installation of the MIVIS multispectral sensor (102 channels) on the Casa 212 aircraft, in collaboration with the CNR (LARA Project).

1995

1:40,000 scale black and white footage for the Republic of Ireland, completed in 13 days.

1995–1997

Production of black and white digital orthophotos for agricultural inspections.

1998–2000

TerraItaly Project: national color coverage, orthophotos at 1:10,000 scale, with license for use. Fundamental for environmental studies and comparison with the 1988 flight (Kyoto Protocol).

2001

First use of INS-GPS systems integrated with cameras. Color flight over Calabria.

2003

LiDAR system testing in collaboration with the University of Pavia.

2004

LiDAR survey for the entire Province of Bolzano and the Aosta Valley Region.
Introduction of the Leica ADS40 pushbroom scanning digital camera: transition from analog to continuous digital images.
Dual (then Penta) project for the production of oblique images of Italian capitals.

2005

Film is eliminated permanently. Exclusive adoption of Leica and Vexcel digital sensors. CGR joins Blom ASA group.

2006–2014

Realization of multi-scale DBT according to the specifications of the State-Regions Agreement.

2008

PST Project of the Ministry of the Environment: LiDAR surveys for the entire Italian coast and the main river channels.
2K Project (Sardinia Region): color orthophotos, DTM, DSM, vegetation map and building models for 380,000 hectares.

2013–2014

DBT prototype for the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region. The Ferretti family reacquires CGR, which becomes an independent Italian company again.

2017–2018

Application of Deep Learning to cartographic data extraction. Regional projects: Emilia-Romagna (2020), Valle d’Aosta (2021), Friuli V.G. (2023).

2018

V-NIR hyperspectral coverage for the Friuli Venezia Giulia project.

2020

Terrain Mapper project for LiDAR coverage of river channels.

2021

Digital Twin projects for the cities of Milan, Padua, Bologna and Bergamo.

2021–2023

3D modeling for the design of new 5G cellular networks.

2024–2025

ISPRA bathymetric LiDAR survey project.
